It’s been quite a week for the teams at MX Display and the Chippy Chippy! A last-minute change of plan with the signage unveiling on Greg James’ BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning (Wednesday 20 November), due to some issues that came to light very late last night surrounding trademarking of an existing chip shop with the same name, resulted in a slightly different approach to the campaign finale – listen to Greg give an update here.

Our teams stepped into action first thing, and set to work on changing the logo, adjusting the lettering on the new signage and helping to source Christmas lights and decorations for the big on air finale!
The MX team joined Lora, the owner of the chip shop, BBC Radio Wales, and Olympic Weightlifter Gareth Evans, to bring festive Christmas cheer to the Chippy and the people of Holyhead, following an on air address by comedian Romesh Ranganathan.

Lora said: “I totally understand why we couldn’t use the name, but we are so grateful to everyone who pulled it together. In less than 24 hours, we’ve renamed twice and will now be trading as Chippy Chippy!
“MX Display have been brilliant, they’ve worked so hard, and they helped us get through the rules of the heritage grant to get the sign approved, I’m so grateful to them – our new sign is amazing.”
