My name is Jacob and I have spent a week in MX Display for my work experience.
My time here at MX has been a great experience and I have learnt lots of new, fun and interesting things. I now have some sort of idea in what I would like to do in the future and spending a week here has definitely opened up my mind to what I would like to do as a job. I have learnt all about the printers and their names and what they do here. I have also learnt all the different job roles and what experience or qualifications you need to have if you was to work here.
I have enjoyed every single day and I have not had one bad day. I have always had something to do and was never bored. I was given lots of fun and interesting activities to do through out the week. One of my favorite activities I did was the product treasure hunt. This was where I went round looking for a list of products to stick in my booklet in the correct section. I found that this gave me a huge confidence boost talking to people I didn’t know, because in order for me to find these products I needed to ask the crew for clues about where I could find these products. I’ve learnt how to use different programs that the designers and art workers use. I was even given the chance to make my own design and I was allowed to print a huge 1m by 1m vinyl graphic using the Vutek printer.
I had to site-survey my own room to know if it would fit on one of my walls, so I was given a session with Tim on how to perform a site survey and make sure I measured it properly.
Altogether, I feel that this experience has been worth it 100% and thanks to the MX team I have now gained an experience worth remembering. Everyone at MX is extremely nice and lovely to work with. I was invited and introduced to the company by the general manager Adrian, this was done in such a nice way and I couldn’t wait to get started. MX is such a nice company and everyone that works there are all so kind and welcomed me and made me feel part of the team.
It was a pleasure to have Jacob with us for the week and we wish him all the best of luck for his future. Enjoy the summer holidays!
