TENSHIELD

THE ULTIMATE OUTDOOR SIGNAGE SOLUTION

DURABLE SIGNAGE WITH IMPRESSIVE ECO ACCREDITATIONS

TENSHIELD is a 100% fully recyclable High Pressure Laminate (HPL), ideally suited to outdoor signage, heritage interpretative panels or wayfinding markers. Utilising a high pressure lamination process and a thermo-hardening resin, TENSHIELD provides outstanding full-colour print quality, long-term durability and resistance to UV and exterior weather conditions, as well as protection from attempted graffiti. TENSHIELD can be supplied printed and customised on both sides, and provides a low maintenance custom surface, which due to its environmental accreditations, scores significantly higher than other ACM products.

TENSHIELD provides outstanding full-colour print quality and long-term resistance to UV and exterior weather conditions for a wide range of outdoor signage.

THICKNESSES

TENSHIELD is available in five different thickness depending on your requirements; 0.8mm, 3mm, 6mm, 10mm and 13mm. Bespoke thicknesses are also an option for full sheet manufacturing.

COLOURS

The composition’s central layer is made with impregnated kraft sheets to provide its strength and rigidity. These sheets are available in a both a natural brown and white to offer colour variants for your project.

FINISHES

TENSHIELD is available in two different finishes; one for internal use and one for external use. The external specification includes a specialist UV treatment to protect against colour fade. Both of these finishes are also available in three surface textures; matte, gloss and textured, which gives TENSHIELD the versatility to suit any project and application.

SIZES

There is no minimum size or quantity for TENSHIELD, giving you full control over your project, no matter how bespoke. It can be machine cut to any size within the maximum sheet size of 1200 x 2700mm.

OUTDOOR SIGNAGE THAT'S BUILT TO LAST

COMPOSITION

TENSHIELD is produced by saturating multiple layers of kraft paper, impregnated with a phenolic resin – the composition being around 60-70% paper and about 30- 40% thermosetting resins. Before pressing, the visible image is digitally printed and placed on top of the kraft paper underneath a UV protection film and clear melamine top layer. The phenolic and melamine resins are both thermoset plastics, therefore the curing process involves cross-linking the resins so that the paper sheets are converted into a single, rigid laminated sheet. Thermosetting creates strong, irreversible bonds that contribute to its durability. The resulting sandwich is fused together under heat at circa 150°C and 2500 tons of pressure in the 5-level bed press below.

10 GUARANTEE

TENSHIELD panels can be easily maintained, and it’s possible to the clean the custom surface with a range of products, including; water, white spirits, alcohol, or acetone, using a dry, non-abrasive cloth (microfibre type). The thermo-hardening resin used for manufacturing the TENSHIELD panels, prevents the application of paint or a re-lamination of the panel. The customised image is included inside the panel material protecting it from a “new customisation”.
