Overview
Directory signage is a versatile solution for complex sites such as hospitals, universities, office blocks, shopping centres or other multi-level facilities. They’re functional and easy to update when services change location. They’re neat and tidy and can be custom made to fit your space. These systems are predominantly used indoors and can be wall-mounted, hanging, freestanding or even underfoot. Directory signage can incorporate maps, images, information and instructions, to help provide your visitors with a positive experience.
Modular directory signage is a system of metal powder-coated slat within a frame. They can be fabricated to your choice of colour and the slats can be a range of sizes. Your chosen base colour is the background for your text. We then print and cut vinyl lettering for the wayfinding information. We have huge range of vinyls in hundreds of colours, or we can print a specific Pantone.
Legibility is key! Research shows that sans-serifed fonts work best for ease of reading, and also better for cutting out. Fiddly serifed fonts can be tricky to apply and easy to pick off! A good colour contrast also help viewers, especially those who are colourblind. So select your colours carefully. Our in-house studio team can help with this if you’re unsure.
It is common to order a directory system with a few extra slats to future-proof against expansion. They can be used as separators in the time being so they don’t look out of place.
