OFFICE GLAZING GRAPHICS
The towering Pektron Technical Centre has been in the planning since August 2018 and began construction in February 2019. We’ve seen the development grow and slowly become part of Derby City’s skyline, so we were delighted when we were finally able to think about the office graphics and building signage.
A building with such height delivers incredible vistas. The modern open plan offices with large windows overlook the surrounding countryside and the nearby Derwent river. We knew it would be a shame to block this view with full privacy window graphics, so this sympathetic manifestation design was perfect.
The office windows for Pektron’s new headquarters was created from cut-to-shape clear window vinyl. Before we printed the brand blue we performed several tests to make sure the client was happy with the colour. We also experimented with double strike and single strike techniques to make sure we achieved the best result.
The Pektron Technical Centre covers 25,000 square feet, and is set over four floors which houses specialist vehicle testing bays, Pektron’s engineering teams and electronic facilities. The iconic structure which reaches a whopping height of 25 metres, calls for equally impressive building signage and we were happy to oblige. The narrow, south facing elevation limited us to a modest 2200mm wide sign, but what was lost in size, we made up for with light. The custom aluminium building signage is both halo and face illuminated and can be clearly seen from the City Centre three miles away. Our professional installation team fitted the signage at height using specialist platform equipment and worked closely with the Pektron electrical team to connect to the power source.
The north facing elevation building signage was much larger at 3680mm wide and is also face illuminated. Mounted to the front glazing we used powder-coated rails to fix the signage and hide the wiring and fixings.
