When an internationally recognised brand asks us to help them deliver their high-profile event at the London Science Museum, we rise to the challenge and deliver an innovative inflatable solution.
Our client required ten, internally lit columns to create an avenue alongside a ramp which would lead guests to an award ceremony. There were several technical obstacles to conquer, one being that there was no power source and another that at a height of nearly three metres, they had to be sturdy enough to withstand a crowded environment. The cylindrical shape also required some creative thinking to avoid any seam in the substrate causing the cylinder to appear more like a teardrop.
Our solution was to create and deliver a suite of ten state-of-the-art air-filled structures with the guidance of inflatable structure experts. The columns were internally lit using a series of ultra-bright, battery-powered LEDs and we printed the designs onto a fabric ‘sock’ to encapsulate the structure. The columns were electrically pumped up and sealed like a giant airbed with the LEDs inside, so there was no need for a generator like your regular bouncy castle.
