We pride ourselves on finding the best solution for the job without stifling creativity, so when our client wanted something different for an exhibition stand, we leapt at the chance to help them. We worked with them to develop a four sectioned rotating cube display unit that looked great on paper, but came with specific challenges. We needed to manufacture three sets that were cost effective, easily transportable, light, assembled quickly, rotated effortlessly and could be located in a reception area after the exhibition. What could be simpler…?
The manually rotating display unit standing two metres tall in the centre of a busy exhibition space raised obvious health and safety issues. Following a period of research and development, we dismissed several initial concepts and manufactured the unit in 12mm MDF with a spray-coated finish. The graphics themselves were printed onto self adhesive vinyl with a matt laminate for extra durability and mounted onto the face of the cubes and plinth. The all important rotation was achieved by a series of 12 inch ‘Lazy Susan’ turntable devices fixed to the base of each cube.
All parties were delighted with the finished result. The completed units standing at 2000mm tall, weighed in at under 30 kilograms. They were assembled in under five minutes, came in on budget and will serve the client well for future exhibitions and events.
